I attended a special charity lunch event organised by Sarah (aka Little Miss Melbourne) to support and raise funds for WIRE. I’m embarrassed to say I was extremely late and was the last person to rock up. I had no idea what to expect and was surprised to see the room filled with super excited women, dressed to impressed and who were all excited to be mingling with other like-minded ladies.
The Ladies Longest Lunch was an all afternoon event that brought together highly motivated, passionate women to celebrate women’s empowerment. It was held in the upstairs function area of 1000 Pound Bend. We were treated to some fine food including Korean tacos, quinoa and pea mint salad as well as Persian lamb with pumpkin and couscous. But the highlight for me were the decadent little citrus fruit tarts including lemon, passion and mulled dried fruits as well as the delicious chocolate truffles.

The event raised almost $600 for WIRE – a Victoria-wide free generalist information that supports women who encounter struggles in their life by empowering them to feel confident about who they are and how to solve their problems with the right resources and support.
It was a great lunch event and I had a really good time. I hope to see more of you at Sarah’s next event in Melbourne as she plans on making this an annual event.
