Unlike other New Years, this year I decided to purchase tickets to a club in Melbourne CBD to make sure I could celebrate New Years in style and comfort. I had to make sure I had enough food, drinks, excellent music and access to clean restrooms while I said goodbye to 2015.

For the past couple of years, I’ve spent New Years along the water’s edge in Docklands watching the fireworks and dancing to the music. But it’s getting too crowded and this year I decided to celebrate it in a more intimate environment.
It’s been a great year and I always enjoy counting down and reflecting on the year that was as well as celebrating and welcoming the New Year. This has been a fantastic year for me, not only do I feel like my old self again, but I’ve accomplished most of what I set out in my New Year’s resolutions that I wrote down at the beginning of 2015. Below are some of the main things I’m happy to mark off my list of achievements for 2015.
My work
2015 was the year I decided I couldn’t work for anyone else but myself. After I’ve tasted what it’s like to work for myself in my own business, it was hard to go back and work for anyone else (especially silly people who have no passion or direction in life). I’m passionate, determined and direct, which makes it difficult to work for others. Because of this in 2015 I decided to work for myself again, and I’ve created some exciting businesses, which I love. Since making this decision, I’m a much happier person.
So here are some of my business initiatives:
Jewellery – I started designing jewellery to test the market to see if what I design (and the price I charge) was something people appreciated and would purchase. It worked out that people genuinely like my designs and style of jewellery. There are now approximately 15 boutiques around Australia and overseas stocking my jewellery, and I’ll continue to work hard on new designs in 2016 and finding new stores that appreciate what I design.
Consultancy Business – In addition to designing jewellery I started consulting under my business “Digital Cactus” and now consult small to mid-size businesses in Digital Marketing. I have an excellent portfolio of clients and looking forward to growing the number of clients I consult in 2016.
An Online Business – As you know I co-created Capriess.com.au which lists and sells pre-loved wedding dresses, wedding decorations, rings and any other wedding related items. This business grew in 2015, and we started working on new websites designs, which will launch in 2016.
These 3 initiatives keep me busy and keep my creative spirit flourishing.
My Weight
In the past three years, I’ve gained some weight, which I’ve been struggling and working hard to control. I guess I was so caught up with things that I started to pack on the weight and didn’t realise it. After 6-12-months of completely turning around the way I eat and the way I exercise I’ve lost almost 10 kilos. In 2016 I’ll continue to eat and work out the way I love and aim to loose an additional 6 kilos. One thing I’ve learnt in the process that no one tells you is that to lose weight you need to be happy. There is no point spending money on things that help you to drop the weight if you are not satisfied with yourself, with your relationship and most importantly with your work.
I would love to hear from you and know some of the things you achieved in 2015 as well as what you have planned for 2016.
