An Affordable Cosmeceutical Skincare Brand called ASAP
25 November 2015 by Emilia Rossi in Feel Beautiful

Facials are an important step in your skincare routine and so is using a quality cosmeceutical skincare brand. This post features a cosmeceutical brand who approached me to trial some of their products. I’m often approached by brands to trial their products, but only feel comfortable writing about them and sharing it with you if I enjoy the experience.

I’ve used different cosmeceutical brands in the past, including CosMedix and Aspect. However, they’re a bit pricey and I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars each month on creams and serums.

The other problem I find with some skincare products is the lack of active ingredients in the formulation. I’m not claiming to be a skincare expert here, but I’m confident when reading a product label I know if it contains quality ingredients.

Cosmeceutical products are marketed to have more active ingredients and their formulations are potent, meaning you only need a small amount. But as mentioned above, some brands are not cheap, and I needed to find a brand that was affordable. It was perfect timing that ASAP approached me to trial some of their products.

I now use ASAP for the following reasons:

  • It’s Australian owned and made
  • They don’t test on animals and don’t contain any nasties such as mineral oils, artificial fragrances, dyes, etc
  • They’re one of the most affordable cosmeceutical brands on the market
  • I like the fact their claims are simple, efficient, and there is no marketing fluff
  • I also love the fact that they’re also available online and not only in salons and I will but my future ASAP products from Active Skin

I’m using the following products from their range:

  • Retinol A

I’ve always used a 1% Retinol serum. This one is just as strong as the one I was using before. However, I find with this Retinol, I don’t experience any dryness or flakiness of the skin. It’s not easy to use a Retinol with 1%, and it took me months to build up to this level.

  • Radiance Serum

I’m a huge fan of serums and love them because they get absorbed straight into my skin. It’s such a versatile product, and I can use it in the morning, evening, in summer under my sunscreen and in winter under my moisturiser.

Their serum contains a potent blend of AHA/BHA, which provide strong exfoliation and dissolves dead skin cells, making my skin feel super smooth and calming down any of my red, flaky areas. It’s ideal for people with mature skin i.e., people like me who are starting to show signs of pigmentation. It also contains some lovely antioxidant ingredients. Overall I think this is a must have serum, and you can’t overlook the fact that it is priced so well at only $89.

  • Moisturiser with an SPF50+

I’ve already blogged in the past of the sunscreens I use (including one from Aldi and Kit Cosmetics). The one from Kit Cosmetics is only an SPF30+ and compared to this I would rather use something stronger. Not sure if there is a huge difference between an SPF30+ or SPF50+ but because I have fair skin I’m happy to go with the higher number unless told otherwise. Besides acting like a face sunscreen you can’t forget the fact that this is also a powerful moisturiser with ingredients that keep the skin hydrated, boosts collagen and alleviates the symptoms of Rosacea, which is what I have. Does your sunscreen do all of this?

What brand of skincare are you using at the moment?

Update (24th of Sept 2016) – I now incorporate another brand which I find even gentler on the skin but uses more potent ingredients. It’s called DMK and I first mentioned it on my blog here.
