For the past 6 weeks, I’ve followed a strict beauty, health and fitness regime, and I want to share with you some of the things I’ve done to make sure I feel and look my best on my wedding day.
1. Supplements – Swisse Ultiboost Hair Skin Nails Liquid
When I get overly anxious, my nails start to break, and a wedding tends to make you more anxious than normal. One of the things I did to make sure I was feeling my best was to take some supplements. One of the supplements I took was this formulation from Swisse because it stated it ‘may help’ in the production of collagen, which supports healthier nails, as well as boosting my antioxidants – something I needed to do if I wanted to prevent getting sick.
If you want to take a supplement, make sure you give yourself enough lead-time. I was open to taking anything I could to potentially keep my hair, nails, and skin looking beautiful and healthy.
I consumed the entire bottle, it tastes like a very sweet orange juice and my nails became stronger and for some strange reason, my eyelashes also became longer – not sure if that had anything to do with the fact I took this supplement. It’s probably something I will not take again unless I am experiencing high levels of anxiety, but I’m happy to take a supplement like this ‘just in case’ because, during a time like this the body reacts strangely to those extra emotions, hormones and endorphins can do weird things to your body.
2. Exercising and keeping fit
During those last 6-4 weeks, I was determined to shed those last kilos and made sure to focus on high-intensity workouts (basically doing anything that made me sweat like crazy!). This meant that I was working out 6-times a week and watched very carefully what I ate. The team at the Virgin Health Centre were extremely supportive and made sure to touch base with me every week during the last month to ensure I was on track with my weight and fitness goals. I didn’t just do this because I was getting married; I did this because it was a long-term goal of mine to be a certain weight by May.
3. Glowing skin
If I feel off balance inside it shows on my face and I have no issues if I need to spend time and money to make sure my skin glows. I’m not a fan of pricey treatments or skincare and don’t believe you need to invest a lot of time or money to have great skin.
A treatment I was introduced to was from DMK and included two of their enzyme therapy facial treatments as well as some of their skincare products. This high facial instantly eliminates the dead skin cells, detoxifies and increases the oxygen in the skin. It took 30 minutes and left my skin plumper, removed most of my redness and made it baby smooth – even my partner noticed a difference!
If you have room in your wedding budget, why not spend some of it on your skin and invest in some treatments (or even some new skincare products) that will benefit your skin and leave it not only feeling but looking gorgeous.
4. A brighter smile
I was drinking two coffees per day and noticed my teeth were starting to look dull and a little stained. My dentist had a great product for whitening my teeth but it was over $300, so I decided to opt for something more affordable and decided to try LED teeth whitening treatment as well as some teeth whitening strips.
Perla offered a 30-minute teeth whitening session, which made my teeth instantly brighter. I loved how white my teeth looked, I never had them whitened like this as I thought it would be harmful to my teeth and leave them very sensitive. But my teeth were not left feeling vulnerable and I’ll make sure to never leave my teeth looking dull and stained again.
I hope you liked some of the things I did leading up to my wedding to make sure I not only looked great, but I was rocking it inside. I would love to know what things you did to feel better for your wedding.
