Summer is quickly fading away and it’s time to face the moodiest season of them all – Autumn. But fear not stylistas! Cooler weather means even cooler trends to slip on and try out. This season is about putting new twists on old classics like denim, leather and lace. These three fabrics are always fashionable, mix and match perfectly, not to mention will keep you toasty warm and take your look seamlessly from day to night.
Shirt- Romwe
Americana pieces are going to be big this year and this button up is a funky alternative from plain denim. For me this flag print shirt serves two amazing purposes: 1. It looks damn cool and is super versatile – I can wear it open as a light jacket or buttoned up under a blazer 2. Confusing people who still aren’t sure if I’m an Aussie or American. Now you’ll never know for sure!
Shorts – (Customised) Levis
For when those surprisingly pleasant sunny days pop up and say hello, jean shorts are still appropriate. Wear with thin tights, ankle boots and a blazer to keep it smart.
Vest – All About Eve
Biker inspired leather is still as hot as ever for autumn and winter. Christopher Kane’s pre fall collection was all about quilted pieces so why not grab something like this All About Eve leather motorcycle vest with quilted shoulders?
Shorts – junk
After finding out the hard way that leather shorts in summer are not a good idea (no matter how easy celebrities seem to pull it off), I’m looking forward to wearing these babies with boots and tights when the chill settles in!
Kimono- Oh My Love
Lace is feminine and flirty. Take your boho pieces like this lace kimono and make it modern by pairing it with skinny jeans, thigh boots and a turtleneck.
Fringe Top
Teaming lace with fringe is a throwback flapper look that would make Gatsby blush. Wear with simple pieces and minimal accessories to keep it from being OTT.
