Our friends and family still comment on how much they enjoyed our wedding venue. I’m proud of the fact that we were able to achieve such an incredible event at such an unbelievable place while still keeping well within our conservative budget – thanks to some of my wedding money saving tips here.
Before discovering Campbell Point House, I contacted over 12 other wedding venues mostly in Melbourne such as:
- Sketch
- Red Scooter
- Smiles
- White House in St Kilda Road
- Botanic Gardens
- Rippon Lea
- Brighton Savoy
- Quat Quatta
- Werribee Mansion
- W (in Bali)
- Bvlgari (in Bali)
Most of the venues above offered a limited time of use, i.e., only 5 hours for a wedding. Considering the amount of money and time invested in a wedding, we wanted to prolong the experience as long as possible. Being able to enjoy a long celebration meant our wedding day passed pretty slow, and I was able to enjoy every moment of it. Something I know a lot of you would appreciate, especially if you are like me and want to stretch your venue hire for as long as possible.
I started searching for Luxury Estates for Hire after feeling dissatisfied with the venues above. The idea of hiring an entire estate for a wedding was different, and I was hoping it would be a better option. I also thought because this option was not as popular as the venues above market themselves to be, it would also be a cheaper option.
This is how I found Campbell Point House, a private luxury estate overlooking the water located on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria – about 1.5 hours drive from Melbourne CBD. This opulent guesthouse is available to hire for private and intimate events with no more than 100 guests.
I loved the idea of being able to hire a venue like this not just for 5 hours but 24 hours. Campbell Point House offered the most beautiful and romantic backdrop to our wedding. Despite it raining on the day, we enjoyed being able to entertain our guests in this luxurious waterfront mansion. It would have been nice to explore the surrounding gardens, but it was still just as lovely being indoors. With its grand staircase, high ceilings, marble, and antique wood décor this venue did not disappoint and to be honest, you couldn’t compare it to the places mentioned above, mainly as it was priced lower than most of the sites I had visited.
Highlights of Campbell Point House include:
- It features its private pool house and tennis courts
- The main house can accommodate 12 adults in 6 large bedrooms including a master bedroom that is bigger than my apartment!
- The house is surrounded by well kept sculptured garden beds and large green lawns
- Exceptional décor decorate the large spaces for everyone to wander around and enjoy
- Provides the perfect backdrop for photos inside and outside the mansion
- The décor leaves you feeling with a cosy and warm experience
- Their gorgeous staff who are willing to support and help out with all aspects of a wedding
Below are some photos of Campbell Point House, a luxury venue that I would love to revisit, perhaps to celebrate another significant milestone in my life.

The Lakeside wedding is always exciting. The view of nature can multiply the happy feelings of the wedding guests. Thanks Emilia for sharing this wedding venue. The exterior and interior look awesome especially the outdoor view, it gives the venue a modern touch. It’s kinda sad to hear that rain converted your activity from outdoors to indoors but what a place that is! Indoor is way too polished and has a luxury touch everywhere. Every celebrant should suggest their couples a venue like this.
My dream wedding venue that I have had saved since 2012 and only been seriously researching all afternoon, now that I am newly engaged, and stumbled across your blog. Are you still going to do another post about it? I’d love to know your pros and cons and what suppliers you used and how many people attended and did you do a weekday wedding to save money. I also loved your wedding budget savings tips blog.
Congrats on your recent engagement Melissa 🙂 I just uploaded that post you were asking about, I will also email the link to you now.
Hi Emilia,
I am recently engaged and have fallen in love with this venue. I started researching this venue and found a few reviews that spook poorly about the staff.. just wanted further comments on this. Furthermore I am just wondering about the quality of the daily breakfasts, lunches and dinners provided by the venue during the stay?
Hey Steph, Congrats on your engagement – that’s super exciting 🙂 In regards to the staff – I had no issues whatsoever. You have to remember this is a home (not a wedding venue) and as such the owner and his team are doing us a favor in hiring out their private house/estate for our personal use. The staff did everything they promised and went beyond what they had to do with our wedding. The communication leading up the wedding was excellent. I suggest if you have any concerns to let them know upfront. Arron and his team would appreciate it. In regards to the food, my only comment was the fact that is wasn’t enough. I did make it very clear we would have big eaters at our wedding. I did have a tasting day and was more than happy with the quality of the food provided at the wedding when the guests arrived and during our sit down dinner. But like I said, the guys at CPH are cool and will answer any questions you have about the food. Just triple check the quantities you order for your guests because if they’re hungry, there is nothing close by.
Hi Emilia – just came across your blog – was wondering if you might have a phone contact for someone at CPH as we would love to contact them about the venue? Many thanks x
Hi Megan, I’ve just sent you an email with the contact details – did you receive it? Cheers, E
Hi Emilia,
Came across your blog as I’m really wanting this venue for my special wedding next year.
How any guests did you have? We’re looking about 120-130 however seems they cant take more than 100? I’m looking to find a way because after finding this venue its very hard to pick any other 🙁
Would appreciate your thoughts and any suggestions
Thank you x
From Chantelle
Hello Chantelle,
Congrats on your engagement!!! When do you plan on getting married next year? This is a magical location. We had to keep our numbers down, hence why we opted for a special place like this. We had just over 100 (but under 120). Unfortunately I’m pretty sure I remember seeing that this house was on the market. So might be worthwhile getting in touch with them now because who knows if the new owners want to continue running this as a wedding g venue? Good luck 🙂
