Last month I celebrated my birthday with family in Canberra. Tucked away in a remote countryside area, about 30 minutes drive from the city of Canberra, is a gorgeous place known as Poachers Pantry.
Poachers Pantry provided the perfect backdrop for a chilly and cold Canberra day. The country house is an intimate and cosy dining space to enjoy a wholesome and quality meal with your closest friends and family.
We were treated to some of their famous smoked and cured meats as well as the Wily Trout wines from their vineyard and locally sourced fresh produce.
We started warming up our taste buds with this divine grazing platter that included cured hot and cold smoked meats that were served with a selection of dips.

I enjoyed their smoked duck breast served with a smooth and creamy flavoured duck liver mousse and butternut pumpkin as my main meal.

You know I have a sweet tooth, so I ordered two deserts including a mouth-watering slice of Weiss chocolate cake decorated with spiced orange pieces and pistachios that were covered in a nice coating and topped off with a white chocolate and Malibu mousse – yummy!!!

I also couldn’t refuse their handmade chocolate truffles. Pictured here are four handcrafted chocolates from Robyn Rowe who has over 20 different flavours.

Below are more photos taken for my birthday lunch. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, their service and atmosphere and will be back.
