These are the thirty pairs of shoes I own. Sounds like a lot, right? Yep! According to the Daily Mail, the average woman owns twenty pairs of shoes but only wear a quarter of them. I’ve worn each pair of shoes at least once, but the ones at the front are the ones I wear mostly. Unlike most women, I’m much more of a flats and sneakers girl. I own a bunch of heels because my mother forces me to wear them when I go to parties, despite the fact that I cannot walk in them and yes; I stacked it once walking towards my cousin’s car in the car park (thank god no-one was around!).
I love collecting shoes, though, just as much as I enjoy collecting jewellery and handbags. I may love wearing my converse and flats, but I do have a feminine side and every girl should embrace it.
There is one thing though that frustrates me with shoes- when they don’t go with the outfit. Yes, I’m a little bit paranoid and a bit of a perfectionist- everything needs to co-ordinate. Period. So what does this mean? It means having to shop for another pair of shoes. I enjoy the pleasure of shopping though and there’s nothing wrong with indulging a little.
When I told a guy how I own thirty pairs of shoes, he turned me and said, “Are you kidding me? I only own three.” Males don’t get us. We don’t get males. But we women will continue to collect shoes. Why? Because they look good and shoes bring out confidence within us.
