With so much occurring this month I would like to share a light-hearted post about my little Pomeranian Goochie who recently turned 10.
I remember the conversation with my brother 10 years ago regarding the type of dog breed we would love to own next. We grew up with Corgi’s but preferred a dog that we could enjoy time with indoors.
After researching dog breeds, we narrowed it down to a Pomeranian. Love the features of a Pomeranian such as their furry coats, teddy bear-like faces and bubbly personality.
We also discovered they are smart and easy to train. Pomeranians also don’t shed a lot of hair, making them an ideal friend to have indoors.
Once we decided on the breed, it was time to find a Pomeranian breeder. I’ll never forget the moment we first laid eyes on Goochie. He was small and innocent and couldn’t stop wriggling his tiny hairs, which would eventually, become his tail.
My brother held Goochie in the palm of his hand as we drove him away to his new home. It took him a while for him to settle in, in fact, Goochie didn’t make any noise during the first week. He instead followed us around the house, and it was when I brought out a squeaky Christmas Santa toy to play with that he started to make funny little noises.
Goochie has been by my side ever since. He is the best companion, and I adore him. He has changed my life, and it’s amazing to see how many people I have met through him who are also passionate and dedicated Pomeranian owners.
There isn’t a day that goes by that I can’t wait to get home to see how excited he is when I walk through the door. He has a unique character and is unlike any other pet I’ve owned. I loved my Corgi’s but have am a lot closer to my Goochie.
I hope to spend more years with him and am fortunate to be able to spend more time with him when I work from home. I enjoy being able to take him out with me when I meet people or have coffee breaks.
