Dear lovely reader, This is a sponsored post. HOME Docklands treated my family to a two-night stay, including the lovely brunch, in exchange for this write-up of our experience.
For 10 years, I rentvested in Docklands—owning property elsewhere while renting to stay close to the action. During that time, I dealt with all the usual rental challenges. So, when I heard about HOME Docklands, a luxury apartment building with shared spaces and flexible lease options, I was curious—could this have been a better way to live?
A fresh take on renting
HOME Docklands is different, and I could see why it would appeal to people who value convenience and flexibility. With lease options ranging from six months to six years, and move-in dates available within weeks, it offers a level of freedom you don’t usually get with renting. Whether you want a furnished, unfurnished, or appliances included, you don’t have to stress about buying items at the last minute. It’s all about making the move as seamless as possible.

One of the first things I noticed was how spacious the apartment felt compared to other luxury rentals in Docklands. We stayed in a city-facing, fully furnished two-bedroom apartment, and I must admit—I was genuinely impressed. Having lived in Docklands for years, I’ve checked out my fair share of so-called luxury apartments, and many of them don’t quite deliver. But this one felt warmer, more inviting, and far from the typical cookie-cutter high-rise apartment building.

The interiors have a laid-back aesthetic, with timber, stone, and brushed metal adding natural warmth. The furniture is sourced from local designers like Jardan, Grazia & Co., and Sarah Ellison, giving each space more character than your average rental fit-out. It’s these little details that make the apartment feel cosier and less like a temporary rental.
Spaces that add real value
One of the biggest things that sets HOME Docklands apart is its shared spaces—and these aren’t just for show. I loved the private dining rooms, which can be booked for special occasions. Unlike other buildings where amenities often feel like an afterthought, I could see myself using these spaces if I lived here long-term.

As someone who has worked from home since 2014, the co-working space was a standout. It doesn’t have that cold, corporate feel you get in some apartment complexes—it’s thoughtfully designed with breakaway zones, private work pods, and even a podcast recording room. There are quiet spots when you need to focus and more casual areas where you can chat or take a break. The atmosphere felt flexible yet professional, exactly what I need when working remotely.

The gym and wellness areas are next level
Another unexpected highlight was the gym and wellness spaces. The gym isn’t just a basic setup with a few machines—it’s fully equipped with free weights, a boxing bag, a spin studio, and a dedicated Pilates reformer room. It feels more like a boutique fitness studio than your typical apartment gym.

And if working out isn’t your thing, the wellness area is equally impressive. There’s a 25-metre lap pool, infrared sauna, cold plunge tub, steam room, and spa—everything you need to unwind. I’ll admit, I spent more time than I should have, just relaxing here, and I can see how it would be the perfect way to switch off after a long day.

A place that feels like home
One thing that pleasantly surprised me was how HOME Docklands manages to balance a high-end feel with a real sense of community. Sometimes luxury apartment buildings can feel a little too polished—like you’re living in a hotel rather than a home. But here, it felt different. Seeing residents walking their dogs, using the co-working space, and chatting in communal areas made it clear that this wasn’t just another investment property—it’s a place where people live.

The little things that stood out
- Dog-friendly spaces: I loved seeing dogs in the communal areas, and there’s even an on-site pet grooming service, which is such a nice touch.

- Milkbar Café: We had brunch here, and it had such a cosy, relaxed vibe—exactly what you want from your local café.

- Rooftop bar and courtyard: If you commit to a lease for 18 months or longer, you get exclusive access to this space on the 28th floor. I can only imagine how incredible it would be to have a drink up there on a summer night, overlooking the city.
Final thoughts
I went into this experience a little sceptical, thinking it might just be another overly polished rental development. But I walked away genuinely impressed. The thoughtfulness behind the design, the flexible approach to renting, and the sheer number of quality shared spaces make a difference.
If you just want a basic apartment to sleep in, you might not get the full value of what HOME Docklands offers. But if you’re after a rental experience that feels designed for living, it’s worth checking out.
