Thanks to the great mind of Steve Jobs, the Apple icon has been a part of our daily lives. From iPods, iPads, iPhones and the Mac’s, it is near impossible to find someone who doesn’t own at least one of the Apple products.
IPhones especially have had such an impact on our lives. The apps provide us with entertainment, the weather, games, recipes, videos and photos. But with our increased dependency on technology, we may sometimes question our lack of physical exercise and healthy habits.
But of course, with the intelligent individuals working around the clock to bring us thousands of apps, there a number of ones dedicated to health and fitness. Here are some of my favorites that have helped me to recognize and adjust my eating and exercise habits to benefit my health.
MyFitnessPal:
This little genius app is basically a diary to log in how much water you have drank, what you ate for each meal and snack/s and how much exercise you have done. It adds up all the calories you have consumed and burned for the day and helps you to recognize how much you are really eating. You can adjust the measurements of your food and the daily calorie requirement to suit your needs. Definitely recommend this app to monitor your eating habits, especially if you’re on a weight-loss journey.
Lorna Jane:
The Lorna Jane app I used to use when the weather was warmer. This app tracks your walking/running/cycling distance, your pace and calories consumed. It also tracks the path you have taken on a map!
Calorie King Australia:
With this calorie app all you have to do is search up any type of food and beverage and it gives you a basic nutritional chart with the amount of calories. You can also adjust measurements using grams, litres, cups, spoons etc. It may not be completely accurate, but it gives you an idea of the calorie and nutritional values of a broad range of foods and beverages. It even has fast food such as McDonald’s and KFC and is very fast and convenient to quickly search up the nutritional value and calories at the supermarkets before you buy!
