Investing in a leather basic is a must have whether it be a jacket, a pair of great fitting pants, or a basic leather skirt. I couldn’t tell you how long I was looking for a basic leather skirt that wouldn’t cost me an arm and a leg which led me to having no choice but to pattern-make and sew one myself.
I purchased a great hide of Italian tanned lambskin leather. It posses a soft feel with a finish that gives an aged/worn and slightly crushed look (although the skirt in the pictures are extra crushed – a result of a hanger shortage in my cupboard)
The skirt is nothing amazing, it’s a basic staple I’ll use now and then. There’s enough of the hide left over to experiment with another skirt, perhaps something more innovative so watch this space
