It seems that lately all I do in my spare time is attend amazing shows and festivals – lucky me! This weekend I flew down to Melbourne (after a rough 3 hour wait at Tullamarine Airport waiting for my mum’s delayed flight!) to attend the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show held at Carlton Gardens and the stunning Royal Exhibition Building. We made sure to schedule it around some intense retail therapy that left my feet a little worse for wear, but nothing a hot bath back at The Crown Towers Hotel couldn’t fix! Am I spoiled or what?
The Show was incredible! I must confess I am not the green thumb my mum is, but had an amazing time nonetheless. The highlights included free floral design workshops, landscape garden showcases, student floral designs (check out the amazing flower fashions!) and even a petting zoo for the little ones. I couldn’t believe it when I looked at my camera and had taken over 330 photos in the space of 2 hours!
Although the show wrapped up on Sunday, I recommend checking it out next year. Oh, and take my advice – pop a few antihistamine’s in your purse!
