Dear lovely reader, This is a sponsored post. I was paid to try out the Moonpig platform and share my honest experience with you. As always, I only collaborate with brands I genuinely find useful or interesting.
I’m terrible at remembering important dates like birthdays. I know my husband’s birthday because it’s on the same day as mine. My daughter’s is on Halloween, and my son’s birthday follows a neat little maths pattern that’s hard to forget.
So when Moonpig offered me a credit to give their platform a go, I thought – why not? It has been ages since I last sent a card, so I figured it would be a fun thing to do – especially if the kids want to help with the design.

From text-only to total customisation
Back in 2016, the most creative you could get with an online card was picking a font and writing a short message – I know that’s what we did with our wedding invitations. Fast-forward to now, and you can add a video, record an audio message, or design the entire card from scratch.

Moonpig’s online platform was so easy to use that we got carried away with the digital stickers, essentially turning the whole thing into a digital art session.
The app provides a handwriting tool where you write the alphabet once and it creates your font. They’re also trialling AI-generated stickers based on prompts, which is a fun touch if you want something different.
I would’ve loved an option to freehand draw or scribble something directly onto the card via the desktop. My youngest would’ve had a field day with that.
One feature that is helpful is the reminder system. After placing my order, I was prompted to add dates manually. For instance, I sent a Mother’s Day card and was asked to set a reminder for next year.
Reminders pop up via email or app notifications, and you can even schedule cards in advance – perfect if, like me, you tend to remember things just after they happen.
Big cards feel more special
I never thought I’d care about card sizes, but it was great to have the option to choose from three different sizes: postcard, standard, or large (A4 size!). Sending the large A4 size feels like you have made an extra special effort for someone’s special occasion.

Combine your card with a gift
The website offers a range of gifts to send with your card such as chocolates, candles, tea, socks and even dried flowers from brands like Lindt and T2.
I’d love to see more handmade, artisan-style options like you’d find on Etsy. Things like personalised magnets, keyrings, or mini photo keepsakes would be great.
Sustainability matters
Moonpig’s cards are produced locally and are 100% recyclable. Everything is free from glitter and other non-recyclable elements.
Another interesting fact is that they’ve also planted over 307,000 trees through their partnership with Tree-Nation.
Sending without stress
We created three cards that we sent to different addresses. Our total was $49.57 (including postage, which came to $25.60 to send the cards to different addresses). Spare envelopes were also included in case I wanted to hand the card to my special someone in person.
You can choose a specific delivery date for each card and order at least 4 days ahead for standard delivery, or 1–2 days ahead with express to most locations in Australia.
If you’ve let card-sending slide, I get it. Life’s busy, and sometimes these little gestures slip through the cracks. But if you’re after an easy, thoughtful way to reconnect, whether it’s for a birthday, a celebration, or just because, this is an easy way to do it.
It’s personal, fun, and can all be done from your phone or laptop. I think I’ll be using it more often, especially with my kids involved.
