In this post, we will discuss ring sizes and also show you how to measure the size of your finger in 5 simple steps.
Different countries tend to use different units to assign a size to a ring. In Australia, each ring is assigned a letter based on its size, however, because the majority of the world uses numbers, as opposed to letters to measure the size of a ring.
What is the average woman’s ring size?
Size 7 is the most common ring size for women. However, if you’re a petite woman with small hands, your ring size is probably going to be smaller than a size 7. If you’re not a petite woman with small hands than it is safe to say that your ring size will probably be larger than a size 7.
How to measure your ring size
We suggest measuring your finger at room temperature as the weather greatly affects the size of the finger as blood vessels in your fingers tend to expand when you’re hot, trying to release some of your bodies excess heat by getting closer to the skin surface. Your ring should fit comfortably, it should be firm enough that it will not fall off easily but loose enough that it can slide over your knuckle.
Steps to follow to measure your ring size.
Step 1: To measure your finger, cut a paper strip roughly 15mm wide. It is best to use paper over a ribbon or other materials as paper will not stretch and give you an incorrect reading.
Step 2: Wrap the paper strip around the base of the finger you want to wear your ring on, making sure it is firm and snug.
Step 3: Add a small mark where the paper strip meets.
Step 4: Measure from the beginning of the paper strip to the small mark.
Step 5: Now that you have the measurement of the inner circumference of your ring, cross reference it to the inner circumference measurements listed in our ring chart to find your ring size.
