This post is a follow-up blog post I wrote about the makeup I use to help cover up my rosacea.
What worked
I was on a mission to find a skincare range. I needed products that would soothe, hydrate and moisturise my irritated skin as my current skincare was not hydrating enough and left my rosacea-affected areas on my face still a bit dry.
After researching online, I came across a Clinique skincare range that claimed to help and reduce redness known as their Redness Solutions Daily Relief Cream .

I was skeptical about this cream; maybe because of the hefty price tag at $90 for a jar of moisturiser, which I think is a bit steep. Despite the price tag, this would have to be the most hydrating and moisturising cream I’ve used, however I probably wouldn’t purchase it again directly from Clinique and instead look to buy elsewhere at a lower price.
There is no question that this is an incredible moisturiser. After 3 weeks of using this twice a day, I have noticed my redness gone, and the texture of my skin feels smooth and soft to touch. Even my partner has mentioned that he doesn’t see any red spots at all. The fact that it perfectly moisturises my red, slightly flaky and irritated skin says a lot about the quality of this product. I use it morning and night and am not left feeling oily or greasy. The hydration is excellent.
One thing that did let me down about Clinique was the fact that I sent an email regarding the massive ingredients list on the packaging for this cream and never received a reply back. Not sure if it’s a good thing to have such a long list of ingredients. Fingers crossed they pick up on this blog post and actually reply back to my email inquiry.
So now that I have my pressed powder to cover up the redness, a fantastic moisturiser which also reduces redness and soothes dry and itchy skin, I now needed something very gentle to use to wash my face in the shower.
I tried mild cleaners from Lush and some well-known pharmacy brands with no luck. Every cleanser left my skin feeling dry. The only cleanser that left my skin silky soft was the Liquid Face Soap in the Extra Mild option from Clinique. Another well-priced product at only $29.
I know I have now mentioned three Clinique products in this post as I’m not one to usually steer towards any specific brand, but trying and testing so many products from various brands I have to say these three products have done wonders.
I would love to know if you suffer from Rosecea and what products have you worked for you?
