It was great to see the report released from IP Australia this month titled Talking Design: Views from Australia’s Design Ecosystem which I was able to be a part of along with 80 other members of the design industry.

As I mentioned previously in this blog post, IP Australia got in touch after coming across an interview I did with the Australian Retail Association about my experience with design, business and marketing. 

IP Australia invited me to participate in an interview which would help them out with the research they were conducting into our design-economy. The interview was an opportunity for me to share my views and opinions of the challenges I feel exist around consumerism and repurposing. 

The research undertaken by IP Australia was published in this detail report which aims to help the Government identify areas for improvement.

IP Australia’s complete research findings will be presented at Melbourne Design Week in March 2020. After this research phase is complete, IP Australia will start to look at next steps, including potential solutions or reforms.
