March is one of my favourite months of the year, not just because of Easter and the abundance of chocolate or the beautiful changing colours of the trees! For the past four years I have attended Sydney’s premier food festival, Taste of Sydney, held annually at Centennial Park. White tents are erected, twinkle lights strung up, the signature purple banners are draped and stunningly dressed Sydneysiders seem to flock from every direction to enjoy the lovely alfresco setting.
Taste is an exclusive collaboration of Sydney’s top eateries but there is much more to do than just sample the best food in the city. I learned the art of cocktail making in the Sensology “Art of Cocktail Making” class, I can now put Southsides and Whiskey Sours on my drink-making repertoire!, enjoyed live acoustic entertainment by beautiful songbird Sinead Burgess and purchase quality fragrance diffusers from the market stalls.
The highlights for me? Salted caramel gelato (gluten free!), rubbing shoulders with My Kitchen Rules host/judge Manu Feildel, and making my own cocktails. Next time you visit Sydney, make it in March, and venture to Taste of Sydney for a fabulous evening out!
