At the time of writing this, I’ve gone from weighing 104kg to 70.4kg, with a goal weight of 70kg. It’s staggering to know I’ve basically lost a third of myself,
The idea is simple: proper dance events with familiar music, a comfortable grown-up crowd, an earlier finish and fewer of the things that make nightclub outings feel difficult.
It’s not about standing around watching a band or attending a retro-themed singalong. The dance floor is the main event.
The first event under Moves Before Midnight is called Just Dancing.
I’m in my forties, I’m a mum, and I understand how hard it can be to organise a night out that feels worth the effort.
Plans often fall apart because they are too far away, too late, too expensive, too complicated or simply not designed for women at this stage of life.
I wanted to create the kind of event I’d genuinely attend myself: local, friendly, easy to organise, full of music I know and finished at a reasonable time.
Although Just Dancing is the first event I’m creating with my friend. We don’t see this as a one-off night. Our aim is to learn from the women attending, understand what they want more of and develop Moves Before Midnight into an ongoing series of dance experiences.
